Introduction to South Sardinia - Burcei
Although south Sardinia's Burcei doesn't draw the visitor numbers that nearby east coast beaches do, it has a quiet charm of its own that can only be found in Sardinia's inland towns. This community can easily be visited on a daytrip from the island capital, Cagliari, which sits 25kms to the southwest. Via Roma is the main road through the small town and the site of banks, eateries, shops and Burcei hotels. This is where most visitors hang out between tours through the surrounding countryside. While this tranquil town offers a good base for accessing the coast, visitors will need to travel into the capital for sightseeing, upscale dining and shopping on a grander scale. Most people come to the City of Sun, as Cagliari is locally known, for Poetto Beach, an eight-kilometre stretch of soft sand, while the old town has something for architecture and history buffs. Burcei is best accessed from Cagliari Elmas Airport. other spellings: burcei hotels, bercei otel, burci hotell, burcei hote, burcei hotes
