Introduction to Sorrento - Alimuri
One of the most attractive bays on the spectacular Sorrentine peninsula is found in Alimuri. This beautiful town has its own beach, offering views of Naples and Mount Vesuvius across the gulf to the north, while the peaks of the Monti Lattari chain can be seen to the east. Alimuri beach is fine for those looking for convenience, but the drive to Marina Grande or Marina Piccola takes tourists to the softest, whitest sand along the coast. Day excursions to the ancient cities of Pompeii and Herculaneum or the islands of Capri and Ischia can be arranged from Alimuri hotels, some of which offer free bus services to the peninsula's biggest town and major tourist destination, the colourful, architecturally dynamic town of Sorrento. A large selection of cafes, shops and restaurants are set along the town's sunny cliffs, where visitors can shop for souvenirs or dine on such signature dishes as Gnochhi alla Sorrentina and Aubergines Parmigiana. A local ice cream parlour offers gelato made with local nuts and citrus fruit.other spellings: alimurihotels, alimeri otel, hotellin allimuri, hote allimuri, alimeri hotes
