Introduction to Siracusa - Outskirts
The Sicilian town of Siracusa is an official UNESCO World Heritage site and boasts some of the richest culture and history anywhere in Italy. This was the hometown of one of the world's greatest minds, Archimedes, and still holds fascinating ruins from its Greek and Roman heritage. Unlike many of Italy's biggest tourist destinations, the town and its action isn't confined to the city centre; in fact, some of the best Siracusa hotels and several of the area's most popular sights are situated on the outskirts.
