The island of San Pantaleo, also known as Mozzia, is found in the province of Trapia, on the Italian island of Sicily. The island is only one kilometre off the Sicilian coast, almost halfway between the cities of Trapani and Marsala. However, it is commonly believed to be part of the municipality of Marsala. The island is famous for its wine growing culture, which is by far the most popular attraction in the area. The island has been influenced by many interesting cultures over the course of its long history, including Roman, Egyptian, Corinthian, and Hellenic cultures. The ruins that can be seen throughout the island are best visited via an island tour. In addition to seeing the ruins, visitors can take time to explore the museum, which displays exhibits from all the ancient cultures that have ruled here.
