Introduction to Riccione - Fogliano Marina
Despite what some visitors might think, given its name, Fogliano Marina is not home to many boats. In fact, you shouldn't find any ocean-going vessels in this part of the Italian city of Riccione, which graces the Adriatic coast, a few kilometres to the south of Rimini. The area is, however, extremely convenient for flights as Rimini's Federico Fellini Airport is only a few minutes' drive to the north. From here, you'll enjoy flights to a range of destinations in Europe, though many services only operate during holiday seasons. Other ways to get in and out include the E55 Euroroute, also known as the A14 Autostrada, which runs along the coast and is only a few kilometres to the west. Riccione Railway Station can be reached in a few minutes. The hotels in Fogliano Marina and the town area are served by excellent 24-hour public transport services that make getting around easy. Most visitors who stay here spend their days as the beaches that dot the coast.
