Visitors must climb about 100 steps to reach the Residenza del Duca Hotel Amalfi entrance, but the Mediterranean Sea and Piazza dei Dogi views awaiting them at the top are well worth the exercise. This bed and breakfast’s wooden beams and vaulted ceilings have remain unchanged from its years as a 17th century noble's residence. However, all guest rooms now provide modern amenities such as satellite televisions and hydro massage showers. Most rooms also contain full terraces or balconies overlooking Amalfi’s historic city centre or stunning coastline. Another terrace, also featuring panoramic views, is where daily breakfasts are served until late morning. The town centre is 100m away, while its ancient arsenals and namesake beach are virtually next door to the building. Children under 10 are not accommodated, and prepaid cards are not accepted; this historic building contains no lifts.
