The town of Porretta Terme is an Italian commune located in the province of Bologna, in the Emilia-Romagna region of northern central Italy. It is a well-known spa town that has developed into an important ski resort area for Bologna Province. Thousands of tourists venture to the town each year, staying at one of the many Porretta Terme hotels on offer. The commune sits upon the SS64 highway, which links it to other towns in the surrounding region, including Silla to the north and Ponte della Venturina to the south.
