Introduction to Pordenone, Italy
The historic town of Pordenone in northern Italy is a beautiful place to visit for those who appreciate architecture. Its buildings date back to medieval times and have Gothic-Romanesque architecture. Perhaps the most beautiful building in the town is Palazzo Ricchieri, which was built in the 12th century and is home to the Civic Museum of Art. Here, there is an extensive collection of works of art on display by artists including Giovanni Antonio de' Sacchi. There are also artefacts that date from the Middle Ages. Palazzo Comunale palace was built between 1291 and 1395. This beautiful building has Gothic style architecture along with a stunning interior. The best place to stay is in the Old Town, where plenty of Pordenone hotels to suit all budgets are located. The Old Town also has excellent restaurants serving local dishes as well as international cuisine. Pordenone is famed for its great nightlife, which includes excellent bars and an unusual converted bus station which is now a live music venue.
