Platamona is neither a commune nor a city. It is actually a seaside resort area found within the town of Sassari, in the region of Sardinia, Italy. Although there are only about 20 people living in the area on a full-time basis, thousands of tourists make their way to the district throughout the year, as it is home to a beautiful stretch of sand. Platamona hotels are renowned for their variety, ranging from expensive resorts, to bed and breakfasts and even campsites. Of course, the beach is the main attraction in the area, but there are some other things of interest to keep visitors entertained.
