Introduction to Pisa - Outskirts
Pisa is a city close to Italy’s eastern coast, in the central area of the country. It is located in the beautiful region of Tuscany and is home to the world-famous Leaning Tower, which is now an icon of Italy. Due to the city’s booming tourist industry, there are many different types of hotels in Pisa to choose from. The Piazza dei Miracoli, which not only contains the Leaning Tower, but also the cathedral (known as the Duomo) and other religious buildings associated with it, is the focal point of any visit here. At this UNESCO World Heritage site visitors can discover the Romanesque Baptistry, whose dome offers great views of the adjacent tower as well as impressive acoustics. History buffs will want to visit the Museo di San Matteo, housed in a former monastery, where history and artwork come together in one of the province’s largest Renaissance collections.Visit our Pisa Travel Guide
