Introduction to North Sardinia - Stintino
Set on a northern peninsula of Sardinia, about an hour's drive to the north from Alghero, Stintino is surrounded by some of the most beautiful beaches anywhere in the Mediterranean. This small village itself was once heavily reliant on fishing but now looks to an exponentially growing flow of seasonal tourists who fill up the village's good range of Stintino hotels, villas and guesthouses every year. The biggest attractions for Stintino visitors are of course, the crystal-clear, shallow beaches, notably the one near Capo Falcone along the rocky coast just to the north of town, which features blue waters and views of the Torre Falcone tower and Piana Island. Just south of here, visitors can sometimes catch a glimpse of huge flocks of flamingos as well as an impressive Spanish bastion. There are also several great daytrips to be had in the area, one of the most popular being to Capo Caccia's Neptune's Grotto, which boasts rigid stalactites inside a massive limestone cliff as well as a daunting cliff-side staircase overlooking the sea.other spellings: stintno otel, stinno hotell, stintinu hote, stintin hotles, stinno hotle, stintinohotels
