Introduction to North Sardinia - Palau
One of northern Sardinia's most celebrated locations, Palau offers visitors access to stunning views, sandy beaches, great seafood, sailing and much more. Palau hotels can be a great place to spend a night before catching a ferry out to the nearby islands or for a week to enjoy the best of the North Oriental coast itself. There are several great beaches on offer for Palau visitors; among the most beautiful is the nearby Cala Capra beach, which features vivid green and blue waters alongside large granite boulders. Another favourite is the three-kilometre, nature-laden stretch of sand on Gull Island to the north of town. There are also numerous historical sights to be seen in the area, including the 18th century military blockhouses, where ancient walls still stand tall amid scenic Mediterranean vegetation, as well as the haunting Giant's Tomb where massive stones mark the graves of mysterious Bronze Age figures. Adjacent to the port of Palau is Bear's Rock, a stunning Palaeozoic rock formation resembling the figure of its namesake.other spellings: palauhotel, palauhotels, palua otel, paleu hotles, palou hotle, paluo hotes
