Introduction to Naples - Agnano
The stunning city of Naples in Italy is known the world over for being the birthplace of pizza. It is also known for its stunning architecture and rich culture, much of which can be learned of it’s the city’s world class museums. Hotels in Agnano, which lies around four miles west of the city, offer a tranquil atmosphere and good transport links into the city centre. As well as being able to travel into the city proper from this area, visitors can also easily go a short way south to the quiet beaches nearby. There are no major sights in Agnano so visitors travel to the centre to check out the National Archaeological Museum, where artefacts from Pompeii including well-preserved sculptures and mosaics, are on show. This isn't the city’s only must-visit museum, however. The Napolitan National Gallery is home to a collection of u missable works by the likes of Caravaggio. From the district it is easy to make daytrips to Pompeii to see the remains of this once busy community that was covered in volcanic debris in 79 AD.Visit our Naples Travel Guide
