Montesilvano Marina, also known simply by the first part of the name, is a coastal city on the eastern shore of Italy, close to the larger city of Pescara. It is a beautiful town and popular tourist resort area. The bustling city centre is very close to the seafront where the usual beach activities, such as swimming, snorkelling and sunbathing, can be enjoyed. Hotels in Montesilvano Marina offer the perfect base for those wanting to explore this historic village, which was originally situated on a hill a few miles inland from the Adriatic Sea. It dates from the 6th century and was later owned by Chieti. Montesilvano Marina City Centre was developed later on the waterfront as a fishing port. It soon became a favourite holiday spot with Italians families. The international tourism pull here is still refreshingly weak, but some travellers do come to see the majestic Modonna Della Neve. There are also some pretty towns and villages in the area that some choose to visit.
