Introduction to Montesilvano Marina - Beach
A wide promenade with a lovely sandy beach connects Montesilvano Marina with the larger city of Pescara, in the centre of eastern Italy. This community at the Saline River's mouth is divided into two parts. Montesilvano Colle is the original medieval town, whose cobblestoned streets are still lined numerous historic monuments and buildings. The more modern marina is a lively seaside resort and the location of most Montesilvano Marina Beach hotels. This former fishing village first became a popular holiday getaway during the 1960s. Today, the marina and its Adriatic beach can become especially crowded during the busy summer tourism months. Although the marina now contains a modern multiplex cinema and numerous restaurants, its biggest attraction is the scenic cycling path connecting it to Pescara. This path will soon become part of a longer cycling path along the entire Adriatic coast. An ice skating rink is the most popular attraction here during the cool Christmas season.
