Introduction to Minori, Italy
The little Italian town of Minori hugs the rocky Amalfi coast that borders the Mediterranean Sea in Italy's Campagnia region. The entire area is characterised by stunning, rugged coastline and glorious, mountainous natural scenery. The town sits at the centre of a region recognised by UNESCO as a World Heritage site due to its natural and cultural significance. The community is easily explored on foot from hotels in Minori, with the key local feature of interest to tourists being the ruins of the Villa Romana, a set of ancient villas dating from the 1st century AD that today stand in remarkable states of preservation. Another excellent attraction is the Basilica of Santa Trofimena, the town's patron saint. The church has an incredible ornate façade, a marble pulpit dating from the 17th century, and a beautiful clock tower. The neighbouring town of Maiori is home to a beautiful and extensive beach. Spectacular views can be enjoyed from the site of Villa Cimbrone, in Ravello, which is next door to Minori.
