The Sforza Castle (Castello Sforzesco), this 14th century castle has undergone a number of renovations and been enlarged with several extensions over the centuries. Today it is an important museum with highlights including the Ducal chapel, with its wonderful 15th century frescoes; Michelangelo's ‘Rondanini Pieta,’ which remains unfinished; and the lofty Filerete Tower, which has been rebuilt.
