Introduction to Milan - Monumentale
Monumentale is found in the northern districts of the inner city of Milan. Monumentale hotels are usually packed with visitors who prefer to stay just outside the city centre. Just to the south of the area is the large and spectacular Parco Sempione, which is regarded as Milan’s finest and most relaxing parkland. However, the main site within the district is the intriguing Monumentale Cemetery, which houses some fascinating tombs, both contemporary and classical, for tourists to absorb. There are plenty of restaurants and lounges to spend evenings in at the suburb of Porta Nuova, which sits immediately east of the district, and another large park, Giardini Pubblici Indro Montanelli, is found within the same area.
