Margherita Hotel - Alghero

The flat Lungomare Dante cliff provides the stunning backdrop for the Margherita Hotel, in the city centre of Alghero. The same family has managed this quaint inn for over 60 years, but guest rooms now contain internet connections, in house bars, satellite televisions, and other modern conveniences. Guests without private harbour view balconies can enjoy the same unforgettable panorama from the rooftop terrace. In summer, visitors can enjoy breakfast on the terrace in the morning, and pamper themselves with massages later in the day. The caps, bathrobes, and slippers required to enter the wellness centre can easily be rented before relaxing in the salt cave, solarium, Turkish bath, sauna, or heated jacuzzi indoor pool. It takes 2 minutes to stroll to the bus station from which visitors can travel the 15 minutes to Alghero Airport, Sassari’s main link to mainland Italy. The city aquarium is 100m away.

All the rooms are medium in size and in very good conditions. The decor of the rooms varies. The majority have been decorated in a typical Mediterranean style, with white tiling and light colour schemes. The remaining rooms are decorated in a more traditional style. All are very bright. The bathrooms are small and in very good condition.

The restaurant is on the ground floor and offers both Sardinian and international specialities. This is not open year round.

The lobby is large and decorated in a very pleasant traditional style with sofas and chairs scattered around on which to relax or watch television and enjoy a drink from the adjoining bar.

This is a typical Mediterranean building with pleasant stone arches.
