Introduction to Livorno - Castiglioncello
Countless artists and celebrities have searched for inspiration and relaxation in the Tuscan resort of Castiglioncello since the 19th century. The Tyrrhenian Sea surrounds this forested and hilly Costa Fiorita peninsula on three sides. Although Castiglioncello hotels boast quiet and peaceful locations, they are still close enough to Pisa, Florence, Venice and other much larger cities to allow for guests to take daytrips. However, this retreat just three kilometres from Livorno features much history of its own. An ancient Roman necropolis still stands here and the same watchtower has guarded the three-kilometre long San Vincenzo Beach since 1304. Fascinating rock formations stand on the shores of the beach, considered the starting point of the stunning Etruscan Coast. Visitors can rent water bicycles or small boats for leisurely cruises along the water. The restaurants serve fresh local fish, the shops open until late at night and live entertainment is staged each night between June and September. Many of these music, dance and theatre events take place in the 1889 Pasquini Castle.other spellings: castiglioncelo otel, castigleoncello hotell, catiglioncello hote, casteglioncello hotles
