Arenzano on Genoa's coast sees its usual population of 12,000 mushrooms during the Italian summer, when domestic visitors fill its beach and gather to attend its festivals. At just 30kms to the west of the provincial capital and port city of Genoa, it is a good base for those who wish to take in this city's sights yet enjoy plenty of beach time.
