The central Italian town of Frascati is located on the Alban Hills, a series of dormant volcanoes, 20kms from Rome. As Frascati is on a higher elevation than Rome it is a lot cooler, which makes it a popular destination for Romans. The city’s hub is Piazza Marconi which has a few Frascati hotels located in the streets adjacent to it. Additional Frascati hotels are dotted around the edges of the city. Standards of the town’s accommodation ranges from hostels through to four star Frascati hotels. A further selection of bed and breakfasts, villas and resorts are in the vicinity of the city. Frascati’s tourist spots are the 300-year-old cathedral, numerous ancient ornate villas, the Bishop's Palace and two museums. These attractions can be reached on foot. Frascati has an abundance of fine eating establishments. The local Frascati white wine is available, and cheap, at most of the restaurants. Frascati hotels provide a good a base for outings to Rome and to the ruins of the ancient city of Tusculum, five kilometres away.
