Introduction to Fermo, Italy

The quaint Italian town of Fermo, which is located on the country's east coast, is known for its stunning views of the surrounding landscape and Marche region, and the remains of the Cyclopean walls found within its boundaries. The town is 319m above sea level and sits on top of Sabulo Hill, allowing for beautiful views of the surrounding area. The town is relatively small, with all the main tourist attractions being in close proximity, making walking an easy way to move around. Fermo city centre boasts a number of ancient buildings as well as excellent architecture to admire. The Duomo of Fermo is the most important monument in the town. The cathedral's facade is a fascinating example of medieval architecture, while the interior is relatively modern in comparison. The town ruins serve as a reminder of Fermo's history, and it is possible to see traces of the Roman amphitheatre and the town walls, built centuries ago.
