Introduction to Fasano, Italy

Fasono is in the northern part of the central region of Apulia in Brindisi province. There are fewer than 40,000 people living in the region, with the main industries being in the tourist or agriculture sectors. There are some good hotels in Fasano which provide an ideal base to explore the countryside of olives and vines. This part of the Adriatic coast is largely unspoilt, and in the limestone cliffs along the coast there are small coves that make for good bathing spots. Fasano hotels are spread along the coast, which has very little development aside from the fishing village of Savelletri, which is close to hotels in Fasano. The smaller town of Torre Canne with its resort facilities is nearby. For those interested in the Roman ruins of the region, Egnazia is a good place to visit and is a contrast to a day at one of the coastal towns.
