Introduction to Cuneo - Bra
The famous Slow Food movement was born in the small northwest Italian city of Bra, located halfway between Turin and Cuneo. These larger cities both lie about 50kms away from this leisurely city. Bra hotels are at their busiest during the city's biennial cheese festival, which attracts up to 150,000 visitors and features artisan cheeses from throughout the world. The city's other major festival, which takes place at the end of May, is a dramatic re-enactment of a famous battle between the Romans and the Goths during the year 402 AD. At this time, the city was called Pollentia, ancient ruins of which remain on the plains. The community, which has long since moved to its present higher location, sits close to the Tanaro River, at the foot of the Langhe hills and in the Piedmont region of Roero. An 1840 octagonal building in Zizzola Park is the community's most distinctive landmark and can best be seen from Monte Guglielmo, the highest of the city's many hills. The world's first gastronomic sciences university was founded here in 2004.other spellings: brahotels, bra otel, bra hotell, bra hote, bra hote, bra hotes, bra hotle
