Introduction to Cortina D’ampezzo, Italy
Cortina, or to give it its full name Cortina d’Ampezzo, is a town situated in the Dolomites section of the Alps mountain range. Cortina is in the heart of the picturesque Ampezzo Valley. Piazza Venezia is the focal point of the town and features a varied selection of Cortina hotels in its vicinity. Cortina is an internationally renowned ski resort and shopping destination and as such has several four and five star hotels in Cortina options. Other accommodations in Cortina are bed and breakfasts, self catering villas and apartments. Until the 1950s Cortina was a group of small villages but as tourism grew so did Cortina. Cortina today is an elite destination with some of the most famous shops in the world maintaining branches there. Cortina hotels are convenient for these shops and also as a base for the Dolomites mountain sports. In winter, skiers use the hotels in Cortina as a base for skiing and also to partake in the town's varied aprs-ski activities. Cortina has numerous bars, both independent and also housed in the Cortina hotels, where skiers gather for aprs-ski drinks and socialising.other spellings: cotinaampezo otel, cortina ampeso hotell, cortina ampezzo hote, cortina ampezo hotle
