Without a doubt, the most notable building for most visitors to the Italian city of Cernobbio is the Villa d'Este. Home to the most famous of the many upmarket hotels in Cernobbio, this palatial Renaissance residence occupies a commanding location on the shores of Lake Como. The lavish 16th-century building sits in exquisite gardens that are among Italy's finest, part of the reason this is one of the world's top hotels.
