Introduction to Benevento, Italy

Located in the region of Campania, the city of Benevento is only 50kms from Naples, Italy. More than 60,000 people live within the city, making it one of the largest in the region. It is one of the most historically significant settlements in the provincial region of the city. Benevento hotels are generally just a few minutes from many of the commune's most important attractions. The Arch of Trajan is one of the most fascinating sites in the city. It was erected in the year 114 AD, making it one of the oldest structures in the region. An ancient Roman theatre is also found close to the city centre, so too is the famous Arch del Sacramento. At the highest area in the city, the Castle of Benevento can be located. It is made of two parts. The first is the tower structure, which was built in the 800s AD.
