Bari is a port city and economic centre situated on southern Italy’s Adriatic Sea coastline. The old quarter of Bari is on a peninsula between two harbours. At the back of the peninsula there are several Bari hotels close to the city’s main historical sites. The Bari hotels on or near Corso Vittorio Emanuele are convenient for the 800-year-old Saint Nicholas Basilica, the imposing San Sabino Cathedral and Bari Castle. Via Sparano runs south from Vittorio Emanuele and contains chic shops and boutiques. A further selection of Bari hotels is located in the streets behind the city’s promenade. There are a few three and four star hotels in Bari as well as a choice of hostels and bed and breakfasts. Bari has a profusion of restaurants and cafs, predominantly in the old city quarter, as well as a good night life scene. There are several bars in the vicinity of Parco Due Giugno. Bari hotels are a good option as a stopover for people travelling on long distance passenger ferries from Bari’s port.
