Situated upon the E45, the town of Bagno di Romagna is a small but picturesque settlement that is home to about 6,000 people. The commune is found within the province of Forli-Cesena, in the northeastern Italian region of Emilia-Romagna, about 90kms from the large city of Bologna. The town's most famous feature is the thermal care services that are available. Thousands of travellers venture to the town for these services every year. However, there are more than just thermal baths that keep visitors entertained while holidaying in the town. The Basilica of Santa Maria Assunta was built in 860 AD, but this date is not strongly recorded. However, what is not arguable is the fact that the structure, and its 40 metre high bell tower, is certainly worth visiting. In addition to the basilica, the Captain's Palace, or Palazzo del Capitano, is another historical structure that now houses the headquarters for the national park of Campigna.
