Introduction to Andria, Italy
The municipality surrounding the city of Andria in southeast Italy is the 16th biggest in terms of size in the entire nation. Emperor Frederick II considered this city among his favourite places to stay, an opinion shared by many guests at Andria hotels. The Castel del Monte residence that the emperor constructed in the 13th century has become not only one of Italy's most famous castles, but a UNESCO World Heritage site. Another fortified palace called Ducal received an extensive renovation during the 16th century. Most other historic Andria buildings are churches, and the 9th century Holy Cross Church is the city's oldest. St Francis Church and its cloister both date back to the 12th century, while the Teutonic Knights built Sant'Agostino Church about a century later. A Madonna and Child sculpture carved from wood during the 16th century is displayed inside the 14th century San Domenico Church. An impressive 16th century sanctuary called Santa Maria dei Miracoli is located just two kilometres outside the city.other spellings: andriahotels, anndria otel, hotellin andria, amdrai hote, hotlein andia, amdria hotes
