It’s the balance of old and new that Tel Aviv offers up from the bustling markets and ancient sites, to the trendy waterfront cafes, it’s not likely that you’ll run out of things to do.
Explore Jewish culture: if you’d like to learn more about Jewish cultural history and the plight of the Hebrew nation, a visit to one of several museums is in order. The Bet Bialik Museum, Bet Hatfutzot Museum, Eretz Israel Museum and the Jaffa Museum will all provide comprehensive views.
Visit the safari park: for something that will please the kids, a visit to the Safari Park is a sure winner. The park boasts 250 acres of open terrain, allowing the many species of African animals here to roam in a natural environment.
As you move along the park’s five mile trail, you’ll have the chance to witness the creatures in relatively close proximity. Animals include: elephants, giraffes, lions, rhinos, zebras and many others.
About 30 minutes north of Tel Aviv, you’ll find the ancient Roman city of Caesarea, which played a significant role in both Christian and Jewish history. Towards the end of the 1st century BC, during Roman rule, Caesarea was the region’s second most important settlement. The amphitheatre, aqueduct and hippodrome, still remain intact in Caesarea today.
Go to the beach: Tel Aviv has some stunning beaches that are actually in the middle of town. There’s a beach next to the city’s central square, known as Dizengoff Square and a promenade running the beach’s entire length.
