Festivals and Events in Tel Aviv
January Festivals

British Film Festival: for ten days in the middle of January, a wide variety of films produced by British filmmakers are shown at the Tel Aviv Cinematheque. All significant productions of the previous year are screened.
Fashion Designers Bazaar: this January bazaar is organised by top clothing designers in Tel Aviv as an end-of-season fair, at which they sell high-quality merchandise at discounted prices. This is always quite crowded and is a colourful event, complete with music and other entertainment to make the shopping an even more pleasant experience.
May Festivals

Taem Hair: Tel Aviv’s spectacular food festival is held at end of the May, over a four-day period, in Hayarkon Park. A number of the city’s best restaurants set up booths during the event, and sell small, quite reasonably-priced portions of their specialties.
June Festivals

Shavuot: this is a quaint and rather charming Jewish holiday that celebrates the harvest, falling at the beginning of June. The focus of the festival is on nature, and participants customarily dress in white clothing and enjoy plenty of fresh fruits and cheese.
October Festivals

The Love Parade: draws more than 200,000 people to Tel Aviv each October. This enormous event is focused on a simple message of love. The parade’s starting point is the promenade by the beach. It moves along the promenade, finally reaching Charles Clore Park, the site of a really big party where the city’s best night clubs put on excellent music and shows on stages set up around the park.
November Festivals

DanceEuropa: individual dancers and groups from all over Europe are invited to the Suzanna Dellal Centre to join in a month of dancing. Held annually in November, this event attracts some top talent and is one of the most prestigious festivals of its kind. Dancing workshops are also held throughout the month.
The holiday is family-orientated, and you’ll find that almost every shop in the country is closed on the first day of the holiday. Some restaurants will remain open for tourists, however. This is a great time to visit Tel Aviv, as you will note that spirits are high and all sorts of festivities are held.
