Jerusalem Travel Guide
By air: the airport is located 29 miles east of the city and is the main arrival point for tourists. The airport is served by most major airlines and there are regular flights to many European and American cities including Paris, London, New York and Miami. Transfers can be made by bus, taxi and shared taxis known as sheruts (sherutim).
By rail: there is a train service that runs from Jerusalem to the coast, departing almost every hour from Malcha Station. Stops include the Biblical Zoo, Tel Aviv, Shemesh, Ramla, Lod, Bnei Brak, Petah Tikva, Rosh Ha'ayin and Kfar Saba.
By bus: there are buses to most parts of the country provided by The Egged National Bus service, departing from the Central Bus Station on Jaffa road in West Jerusalem. There are also services from Jerusalem to Egypt and Jordan.
