Eilat Travel Guide
By air: the city’s small airport can be found in the heart of Eilat, next to the hotel district, servicing only smaller aircraft and typically domestic flights. Larger planes and international carriers land at Ouvda airport, which is 40 miles to the north.
El Al passengers coming to Israel from overseas can purchase an add-on segment to Eilat, at reasonable cost. The bus ride from Ouvda to the centre of Eilat can take an hour.
By bus: a number of daily buses, except on Shabbat, travel the route from both Jerusalem and Tel Aviv to Eilat, with the journey taking approximately 4 hours, 30 minutes. All buses arrive in the centre on the main street, which is Hatmarim (or Ha-Temarim) boulevard. From there, many accommodations are located just around the corner on Ha-Negev street.
You are advised to make a reservation for your return to Jerusalem or Tel Aviv at least 2 days in advance, on weekdays and on weekends, national holidays, and annual summer holiday periods.

By road: if you’re driving, the trip from Jerusalem or Tel Aviv will take approximately 4 hours, and the road is direct to Eilat.
