Introduction to Yesod Hamaala, Israel
Lying in the northern reaches of Israel, just west of the Golan Heights, Yesod Hamaala is an attractive town in the Hula Valley, which is famous for its wildlife and agriculture. The area is an important hotspot for migrating birds travelling between the continents that lie in each direction of this area of the Middle East. In the mid-1960s, the government established Hula Valley Nature Reserve just outside the town, the first of its kind in Israel in which the swamp has been preserved. Unlike many Jewish settlements nearby that date back little more than 30 or 40 years, Yesod Hamaala was first built around 1880. Still standing today in the town is an old synagogue that has been renovated in recent years. There are only a handful of Yesod Hamaala hotels due to the town's small size, all of which are conveniently located just off the main HaMeyasedim road. other spellings: yesod hamaalahotels, yasod hamala otel, yesot hamala hotell, yisod hamela
