Lying less than 12 miles north of the major city of Tel Aviv on Israel's Mediterranean coast, Shefayim is a small kibbutz settlement built on top of cliffs that directly overlook the sea.

Despite its small size, it has plenty of attractions for tourists.

The closest beach is just a short walk away from the main town, and there are numerous other beach options further afield for those keen to explore.

The area lies within the national park of Hof Hasharon, which takes in the coastline and local flora and fauna, and provides excellent walks with sea views.

Other activities within walking distance of Shefayim kibbutz include a paintball park that is popular with children and a health spa with bathing pools and other facilities designed to help patrons unwind.

Shefayim hotels are limited in number as this is a town of just 1,000 people, but there is a main resort and other options close by.
