Introduction to Sharona, Israel

A 15-minute drive southwest of Tiberias, close to the Sea of Galilee, Sharona is a small Israeli town that makes an ideal getaway given its serene resorts and small population. The area is lush and excellent for walking, with Mount Tavor nearby and a number of valleys that come into bloom during springtime. By summer, the area becomes extremely hot, with temperatures regularly reaching 35°C by early afternoon in July and August. Thankfully, many of the local resorts here have swimming pools as well as other sports facilities to keep visitors occupied, which make the area popular with families in particular. There is also a youth club here and a public swimming pool as well as a handful of other public buildings, including a shop and library. Sharona hotels are numerous despite the small size of the town and make an ideal first stop to find out about the latest tours in the area.
