Introduction to Rehovot, Israel
Just south of Tel Aviv in the centre of Israel, Rehovot lies a short drive from the small Mediterranean town of Palmahim, which offers residents and visitors alike a beach escape. Hot during the summer months of July and August, the city is a bustling hive of economic activity, with a number of big-brand companies located here as well as university faculties, including the Weizmann Institute, with its iconic space age Koffler accelerator building used to study nuclear particle physics. The Clore Garden of Science, an excellent interactive park in the open air, is situated on the same site and ideal for teenagers. The city features a large number of green spaces and public gardens which make it an ideal location for walking, and there is a military cemetery here too in the east central district. Rehovot hotels are scattered throughout the city, with a number of international chains available as well as lower cost options to suit all tastes.
