As the town the New Testament claims Jesus spent his early years, Nazareth receives a high number of visitors, all of which are well-catered for, especially when it comes to things to see and do. The city itself, including the Old City, boasts more than 23 churches and monasteries including the Church of the Annunciation, the biggest of its kind anywhere in the Middle East. More importantly, at least to the Christian faithful that flock to Nazareth, it's the spot where the Archangel Gabriel announced the impending birth of Jesus in a message directly to the Virgin Mary.
