Take the train from Haifa as far up the north coast as you can and you will arrive in the pleasant little city of Nahariyya. Any tourists visiting here will be coming for the fantastic beaches and many of the hotels in Nahariyya are situated along the shoreline. This is a quiet and relaxing destination where visitors tend to limit their activities to a stroll along the promenade. Just a few minutes walk from the beach, along HaGaaton, the main street, is the centre of the city where there is a selection of good Nahariyya hotels. There are also a few decent bars and restaurants located here. A popular day trip for visitors is a bus or train journey to Haifa. This is the third biggest city in Israel and many modern amenities, shops and cultural attractions.
