Introduction to Haifa - Beach
Haifa is a large seaport and city spread across the slopes of Mt Carmel, in northern Israel. The city boasts fabulous beaches which attract countless visitors annually. Hof Dado is one of the Mediterranean beaches on this stretch of coast, which runs from the headland to the port. The pristine sands are great for sunbathing, strolls and beach games. Visitors are able to enjoy snorkelling and swimming for most of the year. There is a selection of Haifa Beach hotels and hostels along the coast. These properties are mostly situated near eateries and bars that serve falafels, schwarma kebabs and Goldstar beer. The adjacent Ursula Malbin Sculpture Garden is shaded by lofty trees and packed with statues. Near the port, Elijah's Cave is Haifa's iconic visitor draw and a sacred site for three religions. The cave offers an ornate altar and shrine, and a sense of reliving history. A gold dome sits high above the city, atop the Bahai Shrine.
