Introduction to Eilat - Almog Beach
Located on the Red Sea within snorkelling distance of Israel's only coral reef, Almog Beach is situated within an underwater nature reserve that showcases Eilat's quieter side. Scuba divers here rave about Moses' Rock, an underwater paradise on the reef, just seven metres down with colourful fish species and an array of other corals, crustaceans and even sting rays. Due to its protected status, the area has escaped the more dense development seen elsewhere in Eilat but that doesn't mean there is a shortage of Almog Beach hotels to choose from, and the number is growing at a relatively controlled pace. The resorts in Almog Beach are generally at the higher end, with creature comforts including swimming pools for when the salt water and sea life seems too much like hard work. And there is no need to bring your own diving equipment as everything can be hired on site.Visit our Eilat Travel Guide
