Introduction to Caesarea, Israel
Equidistant between the major Israeli cities of Tel Aviv and Haifa, Caesarea is a town on the outskirts of the old port city of the same name, Caesarea Maritimia. It is thought to date back to the early Roman era, and certainly there are a number of interesting historical structures to keep visitors occupied, including a striking aqueduct. Sections of the Crusader walls along with a moat that was used to defend the settlement during the Crusades era are also visible. The Ralli Museum here gives an interesting account of the area's local history along with art from famous painters including the Surrealist Salvador Dali as well as works from South America. Caesarea is also known within Israel as the only town with an 18-hole golf course, making it a major draw for enthusiasts of the sport. Caesarea hotels are mostly located close to the cemetery and golf course on the main Rothschild Road.other spellings: caesareahotels, otel in caesarae, ceasarea hotell, caesaree hote, caesarea hotes
