Introduction to Amiad, Israel

Situated north of the Sea of Galilee, close to the larger town of Safed, Amiad is a small kibbutz town with a population of less than 500 people, surrounded by pleasant hilly scenery. The main attraction here is the kibbutz with its excellent facilities, including a wine cellar and various sports amenities. This small town offers a great retreat from which to explore busier areas of northern Israel, including the Sea of Galilee and Safed, which lie just a few miles away. Amiad is also close to the Golan Heights, which lie just to the east. The town's hilly location makes it an excellent base for walking, with its classic Mediterranean scenery and slightly cooler climate due to its elevated position. Like in most small towns in Israel, Amiad hotels are centred on the kibbutz, which offers the most comprehensive accommodation in the area, although there are a handful of other options close by.
