Subang is both the name of an Indonesian district, or kabupaten, and the city seat of this West Java regency. A total of 21 sub districts are situated in this regency, where large amounts of Subang hotels are widely available. The best known attraction in the regency may be Ciater Hot Springs, located 30kms south of the cities of Subang and Bandung. The active volcano crater of Tangkuban Perahu supplies the hot and relaxing waters of these springs, where visitors may swim in soothing pools surrounded by mountains. Hilly hiking paths, ample fishing opportunities, a miniature golf course, restaurants, tennis courts, and a campground are all situated near the hot springs, whose dissolved minerals are said to help treat aching muscles and skin disorders. Pondok Bali and Kalapa Kalapa are the regency's most popular beaches, and many crocodiles are kept in captivity at a location in the Blanakan area.
