Introduction to Jambi, Indonesia
The Indonesian province and city of Jambi in the middle of the western island of Sumatra was once the heart of the ancient Srivijayan Kingdom. Nowadays, the beautiful and varied scenery has become Jambi's main attraction, and unforgettable window views rank among the main amenities of most Jambi hotels. The city is now an active Batang Hari River port whose two largest museums are Perjuangan Rakyat Jambi, which has a fallen WWII Catalina aircraft in its front yard, and the Negri Jambi museum which lies five kilometres from the city. The nearby Pelayangan district is the home of the Sanggar batik representation centre. Those unable to explore the entire province can see its miniature version, called Taman Mini Jambi, not far from the province's main airport, Sultan Taha Saifudin. Restorations of traditional tribal homes and a wildlife conservation park are also part of Taman Mini Jambi. However, Sumatra's highest mountain peak, the 3,805m Mount Kerinci, is well worth the journey to its surrounding Kerinci Sablat National Park on the province's border with West Sumatra.other spellings: jamby otel, jombi hotell, jamby hote, hotes in jamby, hotle in jombi
