Introduction to Cirebon, Indonesia
Formerly known as Cheribon, the city of Cirebon is located along Indonesia’s Javanese north coast. By train, it usually takes about three hours to travel to the city from Jakarta, but buses and car rental are also popular forms of transport available to visitors. Hotels in Cirebon range from budget lodgings to higher end spectrum hotels. Cirebon hotels tend to be cheaper than those in the capital city of Indonesia. There are several places of interest that will keep visitors occupied during their stay. The kraton, or palaces, in Cirebon are quite amazing and shouldn’t be overlooked. Kraton Kasepuhan and Kraton Kanoman are probably the most visited palaces in the city. Gua Sunyaragi is another famous tourist destination located within Cirebon. Some hotels in Cirebon provide transportation for guests although there are plenty of public transportation options available.
