Introduction to Bali - Ungasan
Ungasan is located on the southern-most peninsular of the island of Bali in Indonesia. There are many Ungasan hotels here, among which are five-star luxury resorts and villas. Ungasan is close to Dreamland Beach, which is one of the most stunning beaches on the island. It is popular with surfers and has been dubbed the new Kuta Beach as it is lined with budget accommodation and restaurants. The beach has soft white sand and is an excellent place to watch the sun set. Ulu Watu Hindu temple is not far from Ungasan; here visitors can watch a kecak dance performance within the temple grounds. This dance is also known as the monkey chant and is a depiction of a battle from the Hindu epic known as the Ramayana. The dancers dress in costumes depicting the various gods in the Ramayana, and it is highly entertaining. There are also other Hindu dance performances held here so the temple is well worth a few visits. Ungasan is situated 13kms from Bali Airport Denpasar, from where the journey to the resort takes approximately 20 minutes by taxi.Visit our Bali Travel Guide
