Introduction to Bali - Umalas
One of the most congested parts of Bali is the area around Denpasar's Kuta, Seminyak and Legian districts. Despite being in this busy part of the island, the village of Umalas has remained laid-back and uncrowded. This beautiful little seaside village is just a few kilometres to the northwest of Seminyak, meaning tourists can enjoy the many attractions of Bali's most renowned centres while staying in one of the comfortable Umalas hotels. The beaches of Petitenget and Seminyak are fantastic attractions that offer excellent activities, including surfing lessons, beach sports, sunbathing and more. Pura Petitenget, standing since before the 16th century, is a small yet fascinating temple located only a few minutes' drive from Umalas. The Lio Square night market, which is found near Kerobokan, is a great place to enjoy price-haggling and cultural shopping.
